Measurement with Laser Tracker
NM3D Ibérica’s Laser Trackers perform large-scale metrology with high precision, both in factory and on-site. We measure and align structures and machines over volumes of tens of meters, using SMR/reflectors, wireless probes, and active targets. We carry out CAD-to-part, best-fit, reference networks (bundle), leveling, and georeferencing, delivering traceable reports with uncertainty. Automotive Industry
Measurement and alignment of BIW fixtures, welding lines, conveyors, presses, and robotic cells. We verify gap & flush in doors/hoods on the complete vehicle, spot weld positioning, RPS 3-2-1, and large fixtures. With CAD-to-part and trend reports, we reduce try-outs, shorten downtimes, and stabilize fit-and-finish across models, shifts, and plants, ensuring interchangeability and repeatability.
Aeronautics and Aerospace
Assembly and certification of wing/fuselage jigs, alignment of fuselages, empennages, and nacelles, and verification of drilling templates and long tools. We check straightness, perpendicularity, and coaxialities in critical subassemblies, and support MRO with structure leveling and dimensional validation after repair. Documentation complies with AS/EN requirements, including capability studies and clear corrective actions.


Energy and Large Infrastructure
Alignment of turbomachinery, generators, shafts, and housings, inspection of valves, boilers, and tanks. In wind energy (on/offshore) we check tower verticality/leveling, yaw bearings, and hubs; in oil & gas we verify pipe-spools, flanges, and supports. Railway and Naval
Dimensional control of bogies, car bodies, crossbeams, and long-distance hole patterns. In shipbuilding, we measure blocks, keel, propulsion shafts, and propellers, certifying verticals and straightness in dry dock. The Laser Tracker detects post-weld distortions and misalignments before block closure, reduces rework, and provides a common metric base for shipyard, engineering, and quality.


Machine Alignment and Leveling
Adjustment of presses, extruders, transfer lines, and gantries. We measure flatness, straightness, and parallelism on bases and tables, define offsets, and confirm setup after maintenance. Reports include maps, trends, and acceptance criteria, reducing vibration, wear, and scrap. Outcome: faster ramp-ups, stable cycles, and improved OEE.
Certification of Large Fixtures
We audit pins, locators, support heights, and RPS against CAD and tolerances. On-site intervention documents deviations and proposes corrections (shimming, grinding, repositioning). Measurements are repeated to confirm compliance, and a certificate with uncertainty is issued, ensuring repeatability and dimensional stability across shifts.


CAD-to-Part for Very Large Parts
We combine best-fit and cross-sections to compare the part to CAD over volumes of tens of meters. We identify warpage, ovality, and distributed deformations after welding, transport, or heat treatment. Deliverables include deviation maps, sections, and zone-based statistics, accelerating corrective decisions in tooling, fixturing, and process.
Georeferencing and Control Networks (Bundle)
We create stable target networks linking work areas, floors, and stations. Bundling improves overall accuracy and allows returning to the same coordinate system on different days. Essential for line-to-line operations, industrial plants, shipyards, and wind farms, ensuring traceability and scan-to-scan comparisons.


Point Marking / Setting-Out
We project and mark points directly on the part/floor according to CAD: holes, cut lines, support positions, and assembly references. We assist production teams in drilling and insert placement, reducing drawing interpretation errors and shortening installation times.
Robot and Cell Calibration
We determine bases, TCP, and tool orientations, and validate trajectories relative to fixtures, tables, and guards. Tracker-based metrology highlights offset errors and potential collisions, enabling optimized approaches and clearance heights. Outcome: shorter cycles, fewer stoppages, and direct OEE improvement.


Shafts, Coaxialities and Large Diameters
Measurement of coaxiality, runout, pitch, and functional circularity in pump shafts, bearing seats, and large-diameter flanges. SMR techniques with angular sweeps ensure repeatability and provide objective data for bearing seating and preload.
Deformation and Displacement Monitoring
We assess thermal movements or loads in structures through time series. The tracker measures microns over long distances, allowing correlations with process/environment and defining alarm thresholds. Useful in hot-runs, reinforcement validation, and root cause diagnosis.


In-Situ Inspection of Molds, Press Tools and Tools
Dimensional verification of molds and press tools mounted in the press, without disassembly. We check centers, slots, contact faces, and angles, delivering local deviation maps and compensation recommendations. Benefits: less transport, fewer stoppages, and shorter try-outs.
