Context and challenge
The new iLT sets a new standard in measurement technology by reducing the weight of API's traditional laser tracker range by approximately 50%, weighing only 4.9 kg with integrated battery. This reduction enables fully wireless operation and exceptional mobility, even in confined spaces or outside the factory environment. Equipped with quick-change batteries, integrated controller and Wi-Fi connectivity, the iLT can be transported in a carry-on compatible backpack, expanding its use possibilities to industrial environments, shipyards, modular construction and outdoor applications.
The solution or technology
The system incorporates significant technological advances: ADM (Absolute Distance Measurement) laser technology for high-speed data collection; 8 MP camera with fast automatic locking iVision™, ensuring reliable measurements even in difficult line-of-sight conditions; GPU with AI-optimized processing, enabling faster and more efficient data analysis. The iLT is fully compatible with all existing accessories from API's Radian family, including probes and 3D scanners, and is available in two versions: the standard model and the high-performance iLTx model, with a linear measurement range of up to 80 meters, maintaining professional-level accuracy.
