NM3D Ibérica once again took part in Mindtech – Metal Industry and Technologies International Trade Fair, held in Vigo, Spain, reaffirming its commitment to technological innovation, industrial digitalisation and proximity to the Iberian business community.

In an interview with Global Industry magazine, the official publication of ASIME – Asociación de Industrias del Metal y Tecnologías Asociadas de Galicia, NM3D Ibérica’s CEO, Nuno Costa, shared his insights into the event, the company’s current challenges, and the key trends shaping the future of industrial metrology.

Mindtech: a strategic meeting point for the north-western industrial sector of the Iberian Peninsula

According to Nuno Costa, NM3D Ibérica’s participation in Mindtech was once again extremely positive. The trade fair continues to establish itself as a privileged meeting platform for leading companies and key industrial decision-makers, with a strong focus on the north-west region of the Iberian Peninsula.

“Mindtech has proven to be an essential meeting point for the industrial fabric of the north-west Iberian region. Our presence allows us to strengthen relationships with clients, establish new strategic partnerships, and showcase cutting-edge technologies in 3D measurement, industrial CT and additive manufacturing.”

Throughout the event, NM3D Ibérica presented its technical capabilities and specialised solutions to a highly qualified audience, reinforcing its position as a reference partner in dimensional control and advanced metrology.

Research, innovation and expansion across the Iberian Peninsula

The interview also revealed the company's current development priorities, which include high-tech R&D projects, from high-resolution computed tomography to the automation of quality control processes.

“We are working on projects that integrate emerging technologies, such as Selective Laser Sintering (SLS) for functional part production, and the implementation of automated solutions based on artificial intelligence.”

In the medium term, NM3D Ibérica’s main goal is to consolidate its presence throughout the Iberian Peninsula by strengthening its technical and commercial capabilities and establishing a new innovation department focused on Industry 4.0 solutions.

New technologies for 2025: speed, intelligence and connectivity

Looking to the future, NM3D Ibérica is preparing to launch a new range of technological solutions throughout 2025, further enhancing its portfolio:

  • High-speed laser scanning systems;
  • Non-contact metrology solutions integrated with AI for automated analysis;
  • Next-generation metal 3D printing for automotive and aerospace sectors;
  • Digital platforms for traceability, remote training, and remote technical support.

These innovations are designed to meet the demands of today’s market, where precision, speed and connectivity are critical to industrial competitiveness.

The future of industry: digitalisation, sustainability, and real-time control

Asked about the main trends expected to impact the industry in the coming years, Nuno Costa highlighted full product lifecycle digitalisation, inline metrology with real-time control, and sustainability in manufacturing processes as key drivers of change.

“We believe that the combination of collaborative robotics, machine vision, and artificial intelligence will define the evolution of industrial quality control systems.”

This alignment with emerging trends reinforces NM3D Ibérica’s strategy: to anticipate needs, invest in innovation and deliver technological solutions that support the digital transformation of industry.

Core values at NM3D Ibérica: excellence, proximity, and commitment

Finally, Nuno Costa underlined the values that define the NM3D Ibérica team:

“We foster a collaborative, multidisciplinary and results-oriented environment, while maintaining a strong commitment to professional ethics and continuous improvement. Our work is guided by technical excellence, close customer relationships, and responsibility in every project.”

These values, combined with a culture of ongoing innovation, form the foundation of NM3D Ibérica’s sustainable growth and increasing relevance in the Iberian industrial metrology landscape.

Innovation at the service of industry

The interview with NM3D Ibérica’s CEO makes it clear that the company is not only committed to technological progress, but also deeply aligned with the real needs of the industry. Participations such as Mindtech, and the ongoing investment in R&D, reflect a well-defined strategy: building the future of metrology with precision, innovation, and proximity.
